Deadline reported that Lizzy Caplan ("Masters of Sex", "Now You See Me 3") has landed one of the lead roles in the debut season of the Far Cry series. She is the second officially confirmed participant in the project after Rob McElhenney, who will not only play one of the characters but also serve as an executive producer for the show. The creators have not yet revealed what role Caplan will play.
Details of the series' plot are also being kept under wraps. It is only known that the adaptation will retain the anthology format familiar to fans of the Ubisoft franchise: each season will tell a standalone story in a new setting with new characters. What the first season will be like is still unknown.
Noah Hawley, the creator of the series "Fargo" and "Alien: Earth", is the showrunner and creator of the project. Production is being jointly handled by FX Productions and Ubisoft Film & Television. The start dates for filming and the series premiere have not yet been announced.
