The release of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced is approaching, and additional technical details are being revealed. Recently, Sony published a special trailer for the AC IV remake, showcasing the features of the PlayStation 5 Pro version.

The developers stated that they wanted to make the game world more alive, dynamic, and responsive to player actions – ray tracing helped with this:

A significant part of this is achieved through the updated lighting system, which is now fully dynamic and powered by hardware-accelerated ray tracing.

The "ultra-fast PS5 SSD" helps ensure detail – it allows the Anvil engine to instantly load, virtualize, and display tiny geometric clusters.

Graphics modes on consoles have also been revealed. On the regular PlayStation 5, the resolution is 2160p (upscaled), and you can choose between three modes with 30, 40, and 60 FPS – the latter two will feature "extended ray tracing."

The PlayStation 5 Pro also has three graphics modes, but all of them feature "extended" ray tracing. PSSR upscaling technology is used, and the developers noted that on PS5 Pro, the engine "is capable of simulating and rendering individual strands, providing more natural movement and reaction [of hair] to wind."
