Developers continue to support their old games.

The cooperative shooters Left 4 Dead have been on the market for almost 20 years. They are supported not only by the fan community, but periodically Valve itself returns to the games and releases patches.

In June, Valve introduced small technical updates for Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2. The company did not publish detailed patch notes, but used general wording.

In the first L4D, "several vulnerabilities that could lead to server crashes or crashes for players when connecting" were fixed.

In Left 4 Dead 2, the developers "fixed several crashes and exploits" that were previously reported through the HackerOne platform — where "white hat hackers" can report vulnerabilities and receive a reward.

Currently, Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 are participating in the Steam Summer Sale, which will last until July 9, 2026:

You will play as one of four new survivors, armed with devastating classic and modernized weapons. The firearm arsenal is not limited: you can vent aggression on the infected with a variety of bloody melee weapons from a chainsaw and an axe to a deadly frying pan.
