Dead or Alive 6 Last Round Criticized on Steam - Players Unhappy with Koei Tecmo's Decisions
The release of Dead or Alive 6 Last Round has sparked a wave of criticism. Players are unhappy with the small number of changes, the removal of the original version from digital stores, and Koei Tecmo's policy regarding paid content.
The biggest complaint was the disappearance of the standard version of the game from sale. Now, new buyers can only purchase Last Round, which many have compared to the situation surrounding the GTA trilogy remaster.
On Steam, the new version received about 70% negative reviews, while the original Dead or Alive 6 maintains a positive rating. Some users also started giving negative ratings to the old version as a sign of protest.
Another reason for dissatisfaction is that characters Mai Shiranui and Kula Diamond are not automatically transferred even with previous purchases – they have to be bought again.
Among the new features, Last Round offers improved lighting for one arena, faster costume unlocking, and a photo mode. Fans believe this is not enough. Players also complain about the lack of rollback netcode, cross-play, increased game size, and the series' focus on selling expensive costume packs.
