
Xbox Promotes New Call of Duty with Emphasis on Game Pass Absence

A new chapter. Xbox almost immediately after appointment lowered the price of Game Pass, changing the service's strategy. New Call of Duty installments will no longer be released on the subscription on day one – their addition is expected in about a year. Microsoft aims to make this as clear as possible to players.
An advertisement for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 has appeared online, promoting the game in an unusual way. The ad encourages pre-ordering and reminds about early access to the campaign. At the same time, it prominently states: “not coming to Xbox Game Pass this year.”
The decision looks like a sharp U-turn. During the acquisition deal for Activision Blizzard, the focus was on integrating Call of Duty into Game Pass.
