Valve immortalized Russian esports player's achievement in Counter-Strike 2
Now players can see a reference to magixx's achievement on Mirage.
This summer, an event occurred on the Counter-Strike 2 esports scene that impressed everyone – spectators, developers, and Russian esports player Boris "magixx" Vorobyov from Team Spirit.
In the quarterfinals of the IEM Cologne Major 2026 event, during a match against G2 Esports, Boris was left alone against four opponents and ultimately emerged victorious. The match took place on the Mirage map, and magixx managed to catch the enemy team by killing everyone with a single spray.
The moment went viral in the community. Valve published the moment from the broadcast in the "header" of the Counter-Strike account on social media. At the time, Boris admitted in an interview that he "didn't even understand what happened" and he "just pressed the button and it just happened to work out."
Valve recently released an update for Counter-Strike 2, and now on the Mirage map, you can see four cans of tomatoes on the shelves with the inscription "Magic secret sauce 4x" – a reference to that moment from the match.
The moment from the broadcast:
Team Spirit defeated G2 Esports in the quarterfinals with a score of 2:1. At IEM Cologne Major 2026, the team took third place, second went to FURIA, and first to Team Falcons.
