Possible details have emerged online regarding Square Enix's plans to support Final Fantasy VII Revelation after its release. This is indicated by updates to the Epic Games Store database, where information about several editions of the game and additional content was found.
According to the leak, the database entry was updated on June 2 — several days before the official announcement of the game at Summer Game Fest. In addition to the standard version, the list includes Premium Edition, Premium Plus Edition, as well as up to seven separate add-ons.
It is assumed that some of the add-ons will include familiar bonus content, similar to what was released for Final Fantasy VII Remake and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. This could include additional summons, equipment, and other in-game bonuses.
However, the most notable discovery was the Story Expansion Pass. Its presence may indicate that after the release of the main game, Square Enix will release full-fledged story expansions, similar to the INTERmission expansion for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade.
It is worth noting that the possibility of creating a major story expansion was previously not ruled out by the game director, Naoki Hamaguchi. During Tokyo Game Show last year, he stated that the team has concrete plans and is considering releasing additional story content for the final part of the remake trilogy.
It is currently unknown what these expansions will be dedicated to. According to one version, they may adapt events from other projects in the Final Fantasy VII universe, including Dirge of Cerberus or the film "Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children." The appearance of completely original storylines created specifically for Revelation is also not excluded.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation is scheduled for release in spring 2027.
