Animation studio Studio KAI has officially announced the renewal of the anime "The Ramparts of Ice" (Koori no Jouheki) for a second season. The continuation is set to premiere on October 1, 2026. Along with the announcement, the creators unveiled a poster, which was shown immediately after the finale of the first season's 14th episode.
Mankyu will return to the director's chair, and Yasuhiro Nakanishi will once again be responsible for adapting the script. The main cast will also return to their roles, including Anna Nagase (Koyuki Hikawa) and Shoya Chiba (Minato Amamiya).
The project is based on Kocha Agasawa's popular webtoon, which ran on the LINE Manga platform from 2020 to 2022. The story follows Koyuki, a reclusive high school student who deliberately built an "ice wall" around herself due to difficulties in communicating with people. Her usual solitary life changes after she meets the hyperactive and friendly Minato, who completely disregards others' personal boundaries. Together with the popular girl Miki and the laid-back basketball player Yota, they must navigate the challenging path of growing up and learn to cope with their own social awkwardness.
