Studio Ghibli's "Whisper of the Heart" to be re-released in Russia - audiences will see a restored 4K version
Film companies Vereteno and RWV Film announced that the animated film "Whisper of the Heart" will be re-released in Russia. Screenings will start on August 6, and for the first time, audiences will be presented with a restored 4K version of the film. The film can be watched both with a new dubbing from "Studionaya Banda" and in Japanese with Russian subtitles.
"Whisper of the Heart," released in 1995, holds a special place in the history of Studio Ghibli. The screenplay and storyboards were prepared by Hayao Miyazaki, but he entrusted the direction to his main student, Yoshifumi Kondo. He was considered the future successor to Miyazaki and Isao Takahata, but "Whisper of the Heart" remained Kondo's only feature-length directorial work — he passed away suddenly in 1998.

Today, the film holds 95% positive critical reviews and 90% positive audience ratings on Rotten Tomatoes, and is regularly included in lists of the best works of Japanese animation.
