Extended version of "Backrooms of Reality" with an additional 16 minutes premiered
A24 decided to capitalize on the success of its highest-grossing film.
A special extended edition of one of this summer's main horror phenomena, "Backrooms of Reality," has been released internationally. The new version of the film from A24 studio received the subtitle "Backrooms: Everything Must Go" and gained 16 minutes of completely new material that had not been shown anywhere before.
The debut feature film by 21-year-old Kane Parsons, based on his viral web series, has already made history as A24's highest-grossing film, earning $331 million worldwide. The creators decided to solidify this success by releasing an extended edition.
The content of the additional 16 minutes is currently unknown. Earlier, the director warned that viewers should not expect either documentary materials about the filming or a director's cut of the film with an altered structure. According to him, those who hoped to see "more episodes" of the original YouTube series would be satisfied.
It is also unknown whether the extended version will appear in Russia. The domestic release of "Backrooms of Reality" started a week later than the worldwide release and is still ongoing.
