Writer Brandon Sanderson has revealed the first details of the TV series adaptation of his monumental fantasy cycle "The Stormlight Archive" for Apple TV+. The first season of the ambitious show will consist of 10 episodes. Sanderson will personally write a significant portion of the script and share showrunner duties, but full production is still a long way off.

Currently, the author is fully focused on the feature film adaptation of another of his popular cycles — "Mistborn," which, under the terms of the deal with Apple, is intended to launch a new film franchise. Sanderson is independently writing the film's script, and, according to the tracker on his official website, the work is already 85% complete.

It should be noted that another adaptation of the writer's books, unrelated to the Apple deal, is also in development. Tomorrow Studios, the production company known for the live-action series "One Piece" for Netflix, is adapting the science fiction cycle "Skyward." The project is in its early stages, and Sanderson is co-writing the pilot episode script with Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen ("Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.").
