During the Crunchyroll Showcase panel at Anime Expo 2026, the creators revealed the team of authors and main characters for the anime "Ghost of Tsushima: Legends." Unlike the original Ghost of Tsushima, which focuses on Jin Sakai's story, and its sequel Ghost of Yōtei, which tells the story of Atsu, the series adapts the eponymous cooperative Legends mode, based on Japanese folklore.
The project is being created with the participation of Aniplex, Sony Music, and PlayStation Productions. The creators have not yet presented a full trailer, limiting themselves to posters featuring the main characters of the upcoming anime.
The director is Takanobu Mizuno, known for the short film "Duel" from the anthology "Star Wars: Visions." Takashi Okazaki ("Afro Samurai," "Batman Ninja") is responsible for character design, animation is handled by Kamikaze Douga and HAYATE Inc., and the scriptwriting team is led by Gen Urobuchi ("Fate/Zero," "Puella Magi Madoka Magica") with the participation of Satoshi Maejima and Renji Oki. Sony Music oversees the musical score.
The premiere of the "Ghost of Tsushima: Legends" anime is scheduled for 2027.
