Streaming service Prime Video and Production I.G studio have unveiled the debut teaser trailer and first poster for the anime "Devils' Crest," as well as revealed the main creative team behind the project.
The anime is directed by Kenichiro Komaya, with Shinji Ushiro serving as chief director. Eiji Umehara ("Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song") is responsible for the script, Yukiko Horiguchi ("K-On!") designed the characters, and Yuki Hayashi ("My Hero Academia") and Naoyuki Chikatani are composing the music. The opening theme will be the song "Shinka" performed by popular Japanese singer Ado — a fragment of which can be heard in the video:
"Devils' Crest" is a new light novel series by Reki Kawahara, author of "Sword Art Online" and "Accel World." The story unfolds in a world where mixed reality technologies have become part of everyday life. Sixth-grader Yuma Ashihara plays the VRMMORPG Actual Magic, but one day the boundary between the virtual and real worlds disappears. Game monsters appear in real life, and people begin to change. Yuma first encounters his classmate Sumika Watamaki, who transforms into a creature resembling a monster from the game — thus begins the struggle for survival in a new reality.
The premiere of the "Devils' Crest" anime will take place on November 6, 2026, exclusively on Prime Video.
