Square Enix Responds to Final Fantasy XV Question for Nintendo Switch 2

The Nintendo Switch 2 library continues to expand, with more major publishers releasing games for the new console. Now, Square Enix has hinted at the possibility of another major project, Final Fantasy XV, coming to the platform.

During a June meeting with shareholders, the company was asked about a possible port of Final Fantasy XV to the Nintendo Switch 2. A direct announcement was not made, but the response was encouraging. Square Enix acknowledged that the console's hardware limitations would make it difficult to accurately reproduce the 2016 version, though they emphasized that such a port is "not entirely impossible." The company also stated that the shareholder's suggestion would be passed on to the development team for consideration when discussing future platform strategy.

Square Enix has neither confirmed the development of a port nor ruled out such an option. Given the publisher's active support for the Nintendo Switch 2, this offers hope that Final Fantasy XV may yet receive a version for Nintendo's new console.
