Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced will run perfectly on Steam Deck right at launch
Ubisoft has worked on optimization.
Ubisoft has confirmed that Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced will receive Steam Deck Verified status right at launch. This means that owners of Valve's handheld device will be able to play the game without having to manually adjust graphics or controls.
According to Ubisoft, the developers have put a lot of effort into making the remake comfortably playable on the widest possible range of devices. Steam Deck Verified certification means that the game works correctly with default settings, fully supports the built-in controller, displays correct control icons, and text remains easily readable on the console's screen.
However, Ubisoft did not disclose what frame rate the Steam Deck version will run at. Most likely, the game is aimed at a stable 30 fps. At the same time, obtaining Verified status indirectly indicates good optimization of the PC version — if the project runs confidently on the relatively modest hardware of the Steam Deck, modern gaming computers should handle it without problems.
Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced is a full-fledged remake, not a remaster. The game was built from scratch on the Anvil engine, which was used in the development of Assassin's Creed Shadows. The developers promise a completely redesigned Caribbean archipelago, modern global illumination with ray tracing, a dynamic weather system, and other graphical improvements.
The release will take place on July 9 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
