Arkane founder ready to take back the studio? Fans urge Microsoft to sell the team
Arkane co-founder Raphael Colantonio asked Xbox head Asha Sharma "how much" the studio costs, sparking a wave of fan calls for Microsoft to sell Arkane to him.
The future of Arkane, creators of Dishonored and Prey, remains uncertain after Xbox layoffs. Microsoft has not yet revealed further plans for the studio, which is working on Marvel's Blade.
Raphael Colantonio, co-founder of Arkane, reacted to a post by Xbox head Asha Sharma about Microsoft's restructuring and briefly wrote: "how much?". The developer added that he was asking "for a friend", accompanying the message with an emoji.
Fans quickly supported the idea. In the comments, users are asking Microsoft to sell Arkane to Colantonio, leaving messages with requests to save the team.
Colantonio left Arkane in 2017 and two years later founded WolfEye Studios with former Arkane producer Julien Roby. The team released Weird West and is now working on a new first-person immersive sim.
