Paramount Pictures unveiled the official trailer for the full-length animated film "Avatar: The Last Airbender" and announced a new release date. The film will debut on the Paramount+ streaming service on July 25, 2026.

The film's plot will continue the story of Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko's original animated series. A grown-up Aang will have to face an ancient force capable of changing the fate of his people and embark on a new journey with his friends to prevent enemies from using this force for their own purposes.

The project's path to release has been difficult. Initially, Paramount decided to forgo a theatrical release in favor of a digital release, which caused dissatisfaction among some fans of the franchise. Later, in April 2026, a full version of the film with unfinished visual effects was leaked online. According to media reports, the leak was organized by a hacker from Singapore, who was soon arrested by the police. He could face a fine and up to seven years in prison, but since his arrest in late April, no new details about the investigation have emerged.
