Nintendo has officially announced the discontinuation of the mobile racing game Mario Kart Tour on iOS and Android. The project's servers will be shut down on September 29, 2026, at 09:00 Moscow time – exactly seven years after its initial release in September 2019.
Preparations for the closure have already begun. On July 7, Nintendo ceased selling premium currency and disabled the Gold Pass subscription. However, until the servers are shut down, the company will make all subscription benefits available to all players. These bonuses include 200cc mode, increased rewards, and additional challenges. Users with an active Gold Pass have already gained access to these bonuses, while others will be able to use them starting August 4.
Nintendo also specifically clarified that there are no plans to release an offline version of Mario Kart Tour, so players have just over two months to enjoy their final races.
