The film "Avatar: The Last Airbender" will be just one of several projects being prepared by Avatar Studios. This was stated in an interview with Entertainment Weekly by one of the franchise's creators, Bryan Konietzko.
According to him, the feature-length story about Aang was conceived from the very beginning as part of a larger plan for the universe's development. Konietzko also confirmed that he is personally working on another project, but is not yet ready to reveal details.
"The Aang movie is just one piece of a larger slate of projects that we have planned. I'm working on another thing right now that we'll announce when the time is right."
Konietzko also noted that fan support helps the team get through a difficult period. In recent months, the franchise has faced several problems. The full version of the film "Avatar: Aang: The Last Airbender" leaked online several months before its release, after which Paramount decided to release the film on the streaming service Paramount+ earlier than planned – on July 25, 2026.
Despite this, Avatar Studios continues to actively develop the universe. In addition to the film about Aang, the animated series Seven Havens, which will be a continuation of "The Legend of Korra," is in production.
Work also continues on the live-action adaptation of "Avatar: The Legend of Aang" from Netflix. Although the second season attracted a smaller audience compared to the first, this will not affect the third season, as its filming was completed in the fall of 2025.
