NEXTINDIE studio has released the conditionally free-to-play MMO survival game Mesozoic Dawn on Android. Its main feature is development through generational change. The player starts life as a hatchling or larva, forages for food, avoids large predators, and gradually matures. To unlock new species, players must build a nest and have offspring. The next generation inherits the best genes from their parents and gains advantages that increase their chances of survival.
Mesozoic Dawn features over 70 prehistoric creatures living on land, in water, and in the air. Each species is adapted to a specific climate: some require warmth and high humidity, while others thrive in colder regions. The body's condition is affected by hunger, thirst, stress, and injuries. These disrupt the functioning of the stomach, lungs, and heart, and in severe cases, lead to death.
The game world is populated by herds controlled by artificial intelligence. Animals follow their own behavior patterns and embark on mass migrations during certain seasons. Players can team up for hunting, form clans, or compete for territory, water, and food.
Mesozoic Dawn was released on PC on June 21, 2026. As of the publication date, the game has a 73% positive review rate on Steam, though there are still few reviews – only 88. Meanwhile, on Google Play, the number of downloads has already exceeded 50 thousand, and the user rating is 4.2 stars after 779 reviews. The iOS version will appear later, but the developers have not yet announced the exact release date.
