Actor and comedian Peter Serafinowicz has officially joined the cast of the upcoming Elden Ring film adaptation. For FromSoftware fans, his name is particularly familiar: he voiced Patches the Hyena in Dark Souls II, and also recorded screams of pain and death groans for male characters, which were then used in subsequent studio projects, including Elden Ring.

On Russell Howard's Five Brilliant Things podcast, the British actor with Belarusian roots admitted that he still can't believe his luck. According to him, he accidentally ran into director Alex Garland in the waiting room of a casting agency, where it turned out that they were both big fans of Dark Souls:

"Alex had to run to a meeting, and I just left my phone number at the reception, saying, 'Give this to Alex Garland when he comes out.' It was like a blind date! We ended up becoming friends. And now, fast forward to today: Alex is making a full-length Elden Ring movie, and I'm in it! I just can't believe my eyes, man."

Serafinowicz's exact role is being kept under wraps for now. The cast also includes Kit Connor ("Heartstopper"), Cailee Spaeny ("Alien: Romulus"), Ben Whishaw ("Perfume: The Story of a Murderer"), Nick Offerman ("The Last of Us"), and Sonoya Mizuno.

The Elden Ring film is scheduled for release on March 3, 2028.
