"Child of Minecraft and Sim City": Creator of Ori and No Rest for the Wicked Showed a New Game
The creator participated in a developer event and made a new build of the game Luma.
Recently, Thomas Mahler, the developer of No Rest for the Wicked and Ori and the Blind Forest, spoke out again on social media. This time, he decided to show the community his new project.
The head of Moon Studios participated in a GameJam – a gathering of developers where they create games or other projects within a limited time. He made a build of a game called Luma. Thomas clarified that this is not an entirely new project: over the past 10 years, he had already created several prototypes of this game, and thanks to the recent GameJam, the new build "was put together quickly."
In the new project Luma, Thomas Mahler combines features of the popular cubic sandbox Minecraft and the city-building franchise SimCity:
Here's the GameJam title I was talking about recently. It's called Luma – it's like if Minecraft and SimCity had a baby. It's incredibly fun already – let me know what you think.
The head of Moon Studios published several screenshots and explained that he built this city in Luma over several days. This project already features not only daytime but also nighttime:
Look how beautiful it is at night. And once you and your friends restore the entire Earth... why not build a space station and start colonizing the Moon... or Mars?
An example of Luma gameplay can be viewed at the following link.
