The developers have released the fix to full release.
Recently, Alkimia Interactive and THQ Nordic released update 1.0.3 for Gothic 1 Remake. Soon after, a hotfix was released for the update, which, as it turned out, broke the game – sound problems began to appear.
Now, a second hotfix for update 1.0.3 has been released for the remake of the first "Gothic". PC gamers could already try it out via the "beta branch" on Steam, and now the mini-update has been sent to full release, including on consoles.
In their announcement, the developers used a general wording and thanked the players:
We have released a hotfix for all platforms that addresses audio and sound issues. We greatly appreciate all your bug reports that you send in! Thank you for your cooperation! If you encounter any other issues, please report them through our bug reporting system.
When the beta fix was released, a more detailed description of the fixes was offered. The developers then said that they had fixed the issue with audio channel accumulation; and made it so that sounds tied to the protagonist are no longer affected by the sound occlusion system.
The developers of Gothic 1 Remake have not yet specified when they plan to release the next major update or hotfix for the project.
