The DLC will be much more ambitious than Capcom originally planned.

New details have emerged regarding Capcom's plans for the Resident Evil series. According to well-known insider Dusk Golem (AestheticGamer), the company intends to focus on more extensive story DLCs, and the Resident Evil Requiem DLC will only be released after the Resident Evil Code: Veronica remake.

According to the insider, Capcom views long story DLCs as an important part of the franchise's future. They are intended to be experimental spin-offs of the main series, allowing developers to tell additional stories and maintain player interest during periods between major project releases.

Dusk Golem claims that the team's main efforts are currently focused on creating the Code: Veronica remake. The studio's internal goal is to complete development by the first quarter of 2027, although deadlines may shift to the second quarter if necessary.

After that, Capcom will switch to the story DLC for Resident Evil Requiem. According to the insider, the developers intend to make the DLC more ambitious than originally planned. This decision was influenced by player feedback on Resident Evil Requiem, which reportedly prompted the company to create longer story expansions.

Additionally, Dusk Golem stated that the new strategy will allow Capcom to respond more quickly to community wishes. More compact story projects will give developers the opportunity to test new ideas and mechanics without having to make changes to the long-term development schedule of the main games in the series.
