Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Had the Best Steam Launch in the Series, Outselling Shadows

Assassin's Creed Resynced has become the most successful franchise release on Steam in history. According to estimates from the analytical company Alinea Analytics, the game sold approximately 701 thousand copies in its first four days, bringing Ubisoft around $35.1 million in revenue. The company received almost another $1 million from DLCs available from day one.

Most of the audience came during the initial sales period. On the second day after release, the peak number of daily active users reached 416 thousand people.

The comparison with Assassin's Creed Shadows is particularly noteworthy, as it was the first game in the series to be released simultaneously on Steam and other platforms. Despite a lower price, Resynced significantly surpassed its predecessor in financial performance.

On its first day of sales, the new title earned $22.4 million on Steam, which is 2.35 times more than Shadows at launch ($9.5 million). After four days, the gap also remained significant: $35.1 million versus $22.2 million, which is approximately 1.6 times more.

When compared to games released before Ubisoft's transition to simultaneous Steam releases, the difference becomes even more pronounced. According to analysts, Resynced generated 9 times more revenue than Assassin's Creed Valhalla and almost 19 times more than Assassin's Creed Mirage over the same period.
