Xbox Helix vs. PS6: Analysts Predict Sales of Future Consoles
The release of Xbox Project Helix and PS6 is still several years away, so it's too early to make precise predictions. However, the analytical company S&P Global Market Intelligence Kagan has already estimated the possible sales of future consoles, taking into account the situation as of July 2026.
According to the forecast, Xbox Helix may face challenges due to its high price. Analysts believe that the console will attract a "narrower, enthusiast-oriented audience," as the device will support both console and PC games.
Xbox Helix is expected to sell approximately 2 million units in its first year, reaching 7.3 million by 2030. However, the company emphasizes that the forecast may change significantly.
The actual result could look completely different. A fully open PC platform with the Xbox brand would no longer resemble a console and would likely not be accounted for in this model.
As for PS6, analysts expect its release in 2028. They estimate 4 million units will be sold in the first year, reaching 17.2 million by 2030.
The company also considers the ongoing component shortage, which affects hardware manufacturers. Overall, analysts predict a 19.5% decline in console sales in 2026 due to rising prices.
