Anya Taylor-Joy, cast as the elf Seron in the upcoming film "The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum," admitted that she is only now preparing to read J.R.R. Tolkien's original books for the first time.
At the premiere of her new project, the "Furiosa" star revealed that as a child, she made up a strange rule for herself: that you could only be a fan of one of two franchises – "Harry Potter" or "The Lord of the Rings." She realized her mistake during the pandemic when she first watched Peter Jackson's adaptations and understood that it was perfectly normal to love both universes.
Now Taylor-Joy is going to get acquainted with the literary source, although she will not find her character in the books. The elf Seron, described as a deadly agent of King Thranduil, was created by the screenwriters specifically for the film. The actress is enthusiastic about her new role and stated that if her tombstone ever reads "Deadly Elf," then she will have lived her life to the fullest.
Filming for "The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum" has already begun in New Zealand. The film is scheduled to premiere on December 17, 2027.
