Indie developers from Nord Unit studio presented a co-op horror shooter UNFROST, set in the harsh conditions of Antarctica.
Players will embark on dangerous expeditions, explore abandoned scientific stations, and confront mysterious creatures known as the Rift Spawn.
The main feature of the project will be that it is impossible to destroy enemies with ordinary weapons. Instead, the team needs to collect samples, study anomalies, analyze found evidence, and gradually uncover the creatures' vulnerabilities. Only after this will the final stage of the operation become available – preparing a nuclear strike, which is the only way to eliminate the threat.
The developers emphasize team interaction. During missions, players will have to distribute roles: some will explore the area and search for evidence, others will cover teammates, carry equipment, or hold positions. The success of the expedition depends on coordinated actions and timely information exchange.
The conditions of Antarctica create additional difficulty. In addition to encounters with anomalous creatures, players will have to monitor temperature, resource supplies, and the condition of their characters. Snowstorms and extreme cold become no less dangerous obstacles than the enemies themselves.
