After a series of rumors, Deadline confirmed that Jimmy Tatro has officially joined the cast of the Jimmy Olsen series and will play Gorilla Grodd. For the actor, this will be another collaboration with "American Vandal" creators Dan Perrault and Tony Yacenda, who will serve as writers, showrunners, and executive producers of the project.
The series itself will be a spin-off of "Superman" and will be presented in a mockumentary true-crime format, although Perrault previously called it a crime comedy with a detective intrigue. According to the preliminary description, Jimmy Olsen (Skyler Gisondo) and other Daily Planet journalists will investigate crimes involving metahumans. The first season will focus on Gorilla Grodd – a super-intelligent gorilla with telepathic abilities, who most often opposes The Flash in the comics.
The series does not even have an official title yet. Previously, the media mentioned "DC Crime," but James Gunn denied it, stating that the project was never called that – even during development. The premiere date and other details have not yet been disclosed.
