Tom Holland confirmed in an interview with the media platform Noovie that Sadie Sink's mysterious character will play an important role in the film "Spider-Man: A New Day". The actor highly praised his colleague's work and stated that in the third act, she literally draws all the attention to herself.
"There's a scene with Sadie Sink, who is making her debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She handled the pressure associated with her character with incredible dignity. And in the third act, she just steals the whole movie. It's that good."
The identity of Sink's character remains one of the main mysteries of the film. In the trailers, the actress appears as a hooded figure with a hidden face, capable of controlling other people. Holland's words suggest that the full revelation of the character will happen closer to the finale, although the actor himself did not directly confirm this. Earlier, insiders claimed that Sadie Sink's character hides "a crazy plot twist", and after test screenings, focus groups considered the actress "the best part" of the film.
According to popular theories and leaks, Sadie Sink plays a new version of Jean Grey. This information has not been officially confirmed, but recently producer Amy Pascal stated that Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios are deliberately hiding Sink's role until the premiere, comparing the situation to the return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in "Spider-Man: No Way Home". According to her, it was "Hollywood's worst kept secret": the actors' participation was known long before the film's release, but the studios continued to remain silent.
The international premiere of "Spider-Man: A New Day" will take place on July 31, 2026.
