Korean Developer to Release Anime Competitor to Crimson Desert? New DragonSword: Awakening Footage

The Korean game DragonSword: Awakening, under development for at least five years, will be released on July 23, 2026, on PC without microtransactions.

DragonSword: Awakening will soon try to replicate the success of Crimson Desert. The developers have confirmed the game's release date and released a launch trailer dedicated to gameplay.

DragonSword: Awakening largely resembles Crimson Desert in an anime style. It is a Korean game with a large open world, originally conceived as an online project, but the developers abandoned this idea and focused on a single-player experience with co-op capabilities.

The game will be distributed under a traditional model — players will be able to purchase the standard or expanded Deluxe edition without a microtransaction system.

DragonSword: Awakening has been under development for at least five years.

The project will be released on July 23, 2026, on PC.
