GTA Online fans argued over new trees - some saw a problem, others saw Rockstar's care for players

The July update for Grand Theft Auto Online brought more than just a new heist. After installing the Kortz Center Heist, players noticed that the developers had added several additional trees to the map.

The location was chosen for a reason — it's where many players cut corners, near the road on the hill.

GTA Online fans argued over this change. At first, some users thought the trees acted as a block, meaning the developers allegedly blocked a popular "shortcut" so players would "spend as much time as possible." However, over time, it became clear that Rockstar Games most likely had a completely different goal.

Those who tested this route noted that these trees can be used as a landmark — in which case, there's a higher chance of making a successful jump and landing the car on the road.

Fans of GTA Online have many complaints about the Kortz Center Heist itself. Players call it the worst one introduced in the game to date. In addition, there are questions about changes in the in-game economy — Rockstar Games decided to reduce the reward for completing heists.
