Roblox has introduced Build — a constructor integrated into the mobile application, capable of creating basic games based on text prompts. Users simply need to describe their idea in a chat, after which artificial intelligence will prepare mechanics, environment, characters, visual style, and sound design.
The resulting project can be immediately launched, tested, and refined with additional commands. Build will also allow sharing the game or publishing it directly, without switching to a desktop editor or working with code.
Moreover, the mobile constructor uses the same infrastructure as Roblox Studio, so a developer can start working on a smartphone, then open the same project on a computer and continue it in a professional editor.
The public alpha of Build will launch on July 28 in New Zealand on iPhone, iPad, and Android devices. Access will be granted to users aged nine and older who pass age verification. In the initial phase, the basic version of Build will be free, but the company plans to offer advanced features for an additional fee later. The timeline for expanding testing to other countries is currently unknown.
