Survived only thanks to the console manufacturer. NVIDIA thanked the Japanese giant.
NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, during his visit to Japan, met with Sega representatives and thanked the company for the help provided in 1996. According to him, it was this help that saved NVIDIA from bankruptcy.
This refers to negotiations for the supply of a graphics processor for the Dreamcast console. Although Sega ultimately abandoned NVIDIA's solutions, the company did not leave it without support. In 1996, Sega invested $5 million in NVIDIA, despite refusing to use its technologies.
Huang emphasized that without these funds, NVIDIA could have ceased to exist almost 30 years ago.
During the meeting, Virtua Fighter Crossroads, a new installment in the series from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, was also discussed. The game is scheduled for release in 2027.
