"Who's the Director?": Charles Melton Ironically Comments on Beast Role Rumor in New "X-Men"

News 0

Recently, journalist and insider Jeff Sneider reported that Charles Melton has become one of the main contenders for the role of Hank McCoy, better known as Beast, in the "X-Men" reboot. This clarified earlier information from MyTimeToShineHello about the actor's negotiations with Marvel Studios.

During an interview with The Playlist, Melton was asked to comment on the rumor. In response, the actor smiled and pretended not to know who was making the new film:

"Wow. And who's the director?"

The irony is that the new "X-Men" will be directed by Jake Schreier, with whom Melton recently worked on the second season of "Beef", and the script is being handled by "Beef" creator Lee Sung Jin and screenwriter Joanna Calo.

However, Melton did not confirm the information about negotiations with Marvel Studios but admitted that he would gladly play Beast.

"Absolutely. Yes, absolutely, I'm interested in that. That would be cool. That's a dream. A real dream."

According to Sneider, Marvel Studios has not yet decided on the actor for the role of Hank McCoy and continues auditions. Among other contenders, the journalist named Peter Claffey, who played Duncan the Tall in the series "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms".

"Of course, other actors remain on the list, including 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' star Peter Claffey. Several other performers are yet to audition for this coveted role."

Previously, Logan Lerman and Jesse Plemons were also associated with the role of Beast, but their current status among the candidates is unknown.
