Arma: Cold War Assault Remastered released on Steam - in honor of the original shooter's 25th anniversary

Arma: Cold War Assault Remastered will run on Steam Deck and modern systems.

In July, Bohemia Interactive studio released Arma: Cold War Assault Remastered on PC via Steam — a remaster of the shooter, the original version of which was released 25 years ago. The project was created in collaboration with members of the fan community.

The developers clarified that this re-release preserves the original gameplay, missions, and campaign; the game is compatible with old user content.

The shooter received native support for 64-bit Windows and Linux operating systems. A new OpenGL 3.3 renderer is used, modern resolutions are supported, and spatial audio support has been restored.

Arma: Cold War Assault Remastered will run on Steam Deck, controller support is available; and stability and performance on current systems have been improved.

The Arma: Cold War Assault Remastered page on Steam is available at the following link. The game is installed alongside the classic version and does not replace it — the original version will not be removed.

The source code for the "CWR" project has been published open-source on GitHub (repository BohemiaInteractive).
