"NASA-level PC will be needed": car action Fumes gets co-op for 250 players

Not all gamers will be able to fully unleash the co-op potential.

In July, developers from FUMES team studio presented a major update for the car action game Fumes. Now you can play not only solo, but also in co-op mode.

The creators of Fumes clarified that players will be able to invite as many friends as their computer can handle. However, they warned that not every PC gamer will be able to reach the limit: "Steam allows up to 250, but for that many, a NASA-level computer will be needed."

Overall, Fumes gameplay was tuned for 1-6 players, but it "will try to scale for a larger number of players as well."

A lot of work has been done to implement co-op in Fumes, and the developers warned that bugs may occur:

Adding co-op required changes in more than 1200 project files, so expect some rough edges and bugs. We are a small team of three people and could not test and fix everything at once, but we are already working on it!

Progress in single-player and co-op modes in Fumes will be shared, and a "friendly fire" option is also available. The entire game can be completed in co-op.
