Shortly before the release of the first full trailer for "Avengers: Doctor Doom," a new synopsis for the film appeared on the Fandango and Rotten Tomatoes portals. The description was timed to coincide with the start of early ticket sales for screenings in the premium Infinity Vision format:
In Marvel Studios' "Avengers: Doctor Doom," universes will collide as the Multiverse Saga enters its final chapter. Beloved heroes from three different universes will find themselves on a collision course and ultimately face an existential threat unlike anything they've seen before. This epic film will lay the groundwork for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The main cinematic universe heroes include Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), Captain America (Anthony Mackie), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), Black Panther (Letitia Wright), Falcon (Danny Ramirez), Shang-Chi (Simu Liu), and Loki (Tom Hiddleston). They will be joined by Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Red Guardian (David Harbour), M'Baku (Winston Duke), and Namor (Tenoch Huerta).
The Fantastic Four will be represented by Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Human Torch (Joseph Quinn), and The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach).
From the FOX era X-Men, Professor X (Patrick Stewart), Magneto (Ian McKellen), Cyclops (James Marsden), Beast (Kelsey Grammer), Nightcrawler (Alan Cumming), and Mystique (Rebecca Romijn) will return. Gambit (Channing Tatum) will also appear in the film.
"Avengers: Doctor Doom" is set to premiere on December 18, 2026. The story will continue in "Avengers: Secret Wars," which will be released on December 17, 2027.
