Hogwarts to be shown at the end of the first episode of the "Harry Potter" series - cinematographer reveals details of the first season

The first season of the new adaptation of J.K. Rowling's cycle for HBO will consist of eight episodes.

Hogwarts will be shown for the first time at the end of the premiere episode of the "Harry Potter" series. This was revealed by cinematographer Adriano Goldman in a one-hour interview with André Pilli, dedicated to the production of the HBO adaptation.

Most of the first episode will be dedicated to the Muggle world. The episode is not yet finished: the team continues to work on color correction and builds a visual contrast between the two parts of the story. The ordinary world will have a colder, paler, and bluer palette, while Hogwarts will be shown as bright and warm. This division will help emphasize Harry's transition from a gray life with the Dursleys to the magical world.

The cinematographer also revealed the structure of the first season and told when viewers will see Harry's first Quidditch match. It will be shown in the penultimate, seventh episode. During production, the team shot over seven hours of material with audience reactions in the stands, from which the editors will have to select suitable shots.

The first season consists of eight episodes. Adriano Goldman is responsible for four episodes, including the first and last. The premiere of "Harry Potter" will take place on December 25, 2026, on HBO and HBO Max.
