Arc Raiders Developers Warn of Long Matchmaking Times - Testing Improved Matchmaking

The developers reviewed feedback and decided to implement matchmaking algorithm improvements.

On July 21, the developers sent Arc Raiders players on a new expedition (voluntary wipe), and also traditionally updated the in-game store – preparing additional color schemes for the Torpedo set.

In addition, the Embark Studios team responded to player feedback regarding matchmaking. The Arc Raiders developers noted that in most cases the matchmaking system “works well,” but admitted that there is still room for improvement.

Starting today, Arc Raiders will be testing an updated matchmaking algorithm. The developers intend to improve its performance and warned that finding a match may now take “a little longer.” This is because the algorithm has started to more carefully select a more suitable match.

By “more suitable match,” the Arc Raiders developers mean that players will now more often be placed in squads “that match their playstyle and team size, making raids fairer and more enjoyable.”

Embark Studios will now monitor feedback and track matchmaking metrics. The developers will analyze the results “in the near future” and share the outcomes of the experiment.
