Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige denied rumors that the film "Avengers: Secret Wars" would be split into two parts. Josh Horowitz asked the producer about this during an interview for the Happy Sad Confused podcast. Feige's answer was unequivocal:
"Not in this universe."
Thus, for now, Marvel does not plan to turn "Secret Wars" into two separate films. Previously, a similar version repeatedly appeared among insiders due to the scale of the project and changes related to its production.
In February 2026, insider Alex Perez from The Cosmic Circus reported that the production of "Secret Wars" had entered a "conditional launch" phase, which forced the studio to revise some contracts. According to him, such changes could indicate a serious rework of the film, including a possible division of the story into two parts.
In June, Perez elaborated on this version, stating that Anthony and Joe Russo were allegedly working on another Avengers film in addition to "Avengers: Doctor Doom" and "Secret Wars":
"I can confirm based on the information I've received that the Russo brothers are working on another Avengers film. There's a possibility that it's about splitting 'Secret Wars' into two parts. However, it could also be the next installment in the series."
Additional discussion was sparked by a statement from the Russo brothers themselves. In early June, the directors called "Avengers: Doctor Doom" and "Secret Wars" a single, complete story and stated that they did not plan to make other Marvel films for now. Because of this, some fans suggested that the additional project Perez spoke of was the second part of "Secret Wars."
Some viewers have already expressed dissatisfaction with Marvel's decision, believing that the scale of "Secret Wars" would be difficult to fit into one film:
"Then I expect the movie to be 6 hours long."
"Huge mistake, they won't be able to adequately show such an event in one film without it feeling rushed and empty."
"Avengers: Secret Wars" is scheduled to premiere on December 17, 2027.
