Netflix has released the trailer and poster for the two-part animated special LEGO One Piece. The project will retell the events of the first two seasons of the live-action series “One Piece” in the signature LEGO style and will be released on the streaming service on September 29, 2026.
In addition to the LEGO-style visual design, the special will feature an unusual narrative structure. The story will be told from the perspective of Usopp, who recounts the Straw Hat crew's journey through East Blue and the Grand Line to Tony Tony Chopper. In doing so, the hero will regularly embellish events, portraying himself as the main participant.
Showrunner and screenwriter Tom Hindman explained that this approach will allow the familiar story to be retold without directly repeating the live-action series:
"We wanted to create a project that would help new viewers get acquainted with the vast world of One Piece, and offer long-time fans a fresh and fun look at the iconic events of the first two seasons."
Production is handled by the Canadian studio Atomic Cartoons, The LEGO Group, and the publisher Shueisha. The special was directed by Chelsea Ker, and manga creator Eiichiro Oda served as executive producer.
The characters are voiced by the actors from the Netflix adaptation: Iñaki Godoy (Luffy), Emily Rudd (Nami), Mackenyu (Zoro), Jacob Romero (Usopp), Taz Skylar (Sanji), Mikaela Hoover (Chopper).
