New Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls Gameplay Trailer Dedicated to Illyana "Magik" Rasputina

The creators of the fighting game Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls have unveiled a new video from the Character Guide series, dedicated to Illyana "Magik" Rasputina.

The heroine relies on an aggressive fighting style, combining the use of the legendary Soulsword, Dark Portals, and the power of the Limbo dimension.

Magik's main feature is her portals. The player can simultaneously place up to two portals in almost any direction, after which the heroine can instantly move between them, unexpectedly attacking the opponent. Moreover, not only Magik herself passes through the portals, but also various attacks — for example, projectiles and pillars of fire can appear next to the enemy, making defense difficult. In addition, the Dark Portal ability allows canceling the animations of some moves, including anti-air attacks, opening up additional opportunities for combos.

The character's ultimate ability is called Darkchild. After its activation, Magik transforms into her demonic form, significantly enhancing all her attacks and increasing the damage dealt. The duration of the transformation depends on the amount of the remaining skill gauge at the moment the ability is used.

Reactivating the ultimate triggers the Queen of Limbo effect, culminating in a powerful attack. The developers also noted a remarkable feature of the mechanic: if you switch to another fighter after the transformation, the Darkchild form timer will continue to decrease, but all calls to Magik as an assist will retain enhanced properties, allowing you to maintain pressure on the opponent even outside the heroine's active participation in the battle.
