Despite almost three years having passed since Starfield's release, the modding community continues to actively improve Bethesda's space RPG. One of the most notable new additions is the Seamless Planet Takeoffs SFSE (Beta) mod, which frees PC players from one of the game's most annoying elements — the loading screen when taking off from a planet's surface.

The modification's author, under the nickname 0xBobby, implemented a seamless transition into space. Now, after takeoff, the ship does not interrupt its flight with a cinematic scene and loading: it rises through the clouds, leaves the atmosphere, and smoothly enters the planet's orbit.

According to the developer, the project's goal is to remove the loading screen during takeoff and create the most continuous gameplay possible. However, the mod is currently in beta testing, so users may encounter various errors. In addition, the smoothness of the transition depends on weather conditions and the atmospheric characteristics of a particular planet.

Thanks to this modification, Starfield feels closer to space games like No Man's Sky, where travel between planet surfaces and space occurs without noticeable loading.

However, fully seamless landings are not yet to be expected. 0xBobby said that he regularly receives such requests, but considers the implementation of such a feature extremely difficult. According to him, hiding the loading behind clouds or atmospheric entry effects is technically possible, but it does not align with his vision for the project.
