Former Bethesda developer revealed what should be changed in the Fallout 3 remaster

Bruce Nesmith stated that in the Fallout 3 remaster, developers should rework the outdated shooting system based on Fallout 4.

Bruce Nesmith, a former Bethesda designer who worked on Fallout 3, told FRVR that one of the game's mechanics was long overdue for an update. According to him, the shooting system "was not good" and by the time the game was released in 2008, it already fell short of the standards of modern shooters.

Nesmith believes that Bethesda could use many solutions from Fallout 4 in the Fallout 3 remaster. This would make gunfights closer to classic shooters, and players' reliance on the V.A.T.S. system, which was often the most effective way to fight in the original, would decrease.

Such a scenario seems quite likely. In The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, Bethesda did not limit itself to improving graphics and updated the combat system, adding new animations and reworking mechanics. Many players hope that a similar approach will be applied to Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas.

Bethesda recently confirmed that both remasters are indeed in development. Release dates and a full list of changes have not yet been disclosed.
