
Former Xbox Studio Wins Top Award at Games for Change 2026
At the Games for Change Awards 2026 ceremony in New York, South of Midnight by Compulsion Games received the top award, "Game and Experience of the Year."
The winners of the Games for Change Awards 2026 have been announced. The main triumph of the ceremony was South of Midnight by Compulsion Games, which received the top award – "Game and Experience of the Year."
The Games for Change Awards recognize games that address important social, educational, and cultural themes. This year, the jury selected winners from projects from 42 countries, and the ceremony took place in New York.
The second major winner was the indie game Consume Me by Hexecutable, which won three awards: for Best Narrative, Best Gameplay, and the Indie Breakout Award. The Darkest Files by Paintbucket Games was recognized as the Best Learning Game.
Other laureates include And Roger (Social Impact), Relooted (Community Building), Faceminer (Environmental), ARWell Pro (Health and Wellbeing), and Planet Planners for Roblox. EA Sports FC 26 received the "Accessibility Award."
Also honored at the ceremony was Jenn Panattoni, founder of Aizle Impact and creator of the Xbox Social Impact team. Thatgamecompany studio received the "Industry Leadership Award."
