Hyperkin SupaBoy to Get Two New Colorways - Portable Console with SNES Cartridges

Hyperkin has not forgotten about the SupaBoy portable console, which can run original SNES cartridges. By autumn 2026, this device will receive two additional colorways - Crimson and Prime.

Back in December 2011, the Hyperkin SupaBoy was released – a portable console that can run original SNES (also known as Super Famicom) cartridges. The device supports NTSC and PAL formats and features two controller ports, so you can easily connect original Super Nintendo gamepads.

Since its release, there have only been two updates – in 2016 and 2018. And since 2018, the only change gamers have seen has been the introduction of new colorways, including the latest – “Hyper Beach” (turquoise).

Now it has been announced that Hyperkin has unveiled two more colorways for the SupaBoy – Crimson and Prime (crimson and gray). Most likely, these models will not have any internal changes. That is, it will again receive a chip based on a system-on-a-chip (SoC) and the ability to switch between 4:3 and 16:9 screen formats.

Currently, this portable device in the “Hyper Beach” colorway can be purchased for $119.99 (9359 rubles), so the SupaBoy will find it quite difficult to compete with other devices. The release of the Crimson and Prime models is expected in autumn 2026.
