Former head of PlayStation Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, has once again spoken about the fate of Bloodborne — one of the most requested games for a remaster or remake. During the broadcast of his keynote lecture at the CEDEC 2026 conference, he admitted that he himself doesn't understand why Sony hasn't yet released an updated version of FromSoftware's cult action game.
It's a real mystery. Maybe it will come out in the future, maybe not. Maybe there will be a sequel, maybe not. As a fan, I really hope it happens someday.
According to Yoshida, fans worldwide regularly ask him questions about the game's future. He noted that Bloodborne still doesn't have a PlayStation 5 version, despite PlayStation's internal studios actively releasing remasters of other projects.
