EA Decides to Charge a Whopping $150 for the Premium Edition of EA Sports FC 27
This is the most expensive edition in the company's history.
Electronic Arts has officially unveiled EA Sports FC 27. Along with the announcement, the publisher revealed three editions of the game, including the brand new Ultimate Plus version, which has become the most expensive standalone edition in EA's history.
The Ultimate Plus Edition will cost $149.99 — more than twice the price of the standard edition, which is priced at $69.99. Previously, the company had not sold a single game at such a high price.
To justify the cost, EA has included an impressive set of bonuses in Ultimate Plus. Owners of this edition will receive:
- An 85+ rated Icon for Ultimate Team mode
- Premium Season Pass 1-5
- Up to 7 days of early access to the game
- Hall of FUT Player Pick
- 10,000 FC Points, distributed over five months
- Additional Player Evolution slot
- Two Double AXP bonuses
- Pre-order challenges
- Three legendary players (Icons/Heroes)
- Additional slots for creating Manager Live challenges
- Player Evolution upgrade for EA Sports FC 26.
For comparison, the Deluxe Edition, which costs $50 less, includes only the premium first season pass and 6,000 FC Points, distributed over three months, and has a number of other differences in content.
In addition, EA has decided to stimulate demand with a limited-time offer. The Ultimate Plus Edition with the full set of bonuses can only be purchased until August 31. After this date, some exclusive rewards will become unavailable, effectively using the FOMO (fear of missing out) principle.
