Many players were pleased by the very fact of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered's release, but its technical state on PC and consoles is sometimes disappointing. No updates have been released for the updated classic for a year, so some fans have already decided that the project has been completely abandoned.
However, hope recently emerged. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is being ported to the Nintendo Switch 2 console, with the new version of the game expected to be released next month.
YouTube channel author MattyPlays decided to ask Bethesda about the future of the Oblivion remaster: "Are there any updates planned for Oblivion Remastered – in terms of patches and fixes – for the Switch 2 release in August, or has support for the game already been discontinued?"
Bethesda replied to the blogger that they "cannot comment on that yet." Studio representatives explained that the team working on the remaster "is focused on launching the Switch 2 version, which has optimizations that we hope to later bring to consoles and PC."
Earlier, Bethesda Game Studios announced remasters of Fallout 3, as well as Fallout: New Vegas. Release dates for the projects have not yet been announced.
